Future of color guard programs at Broward schools in jeopardy

The color guard at several schools across Broward County may soon be forced to stop performing.

Around 300 performers across six schools put in hours of work for color guard, but now they don’t know when their next performance will be.

This is because of a contract dispute between Broward County Public Schools and the nonprofit Winter Guard International, which governs where the students will perform.

WGI is citing contract language as the reason for the dispute, but those who work with the performers said they don’t know what that language specifically is.

BCPS said they are working on a potential solution and they will provide updates as soon as possible.
