A student was arrested Monday morning after bringing an unloaded gun onto the campus of Miramar High School, authorities said.
According to Miramar police, security personnel immediately detected and confiscated the weapon as the student entered the school, which is located at 3601 SW 89th Ave.
They said no ammunition was found in the student’s possession.
Investigators said the student was taken into custody and the Miramar Police Department is investigating the origin of the gun.
No injuries were reported and authorities have not immediately released additional information about the student.
